Research Writing I is intended to help students in the first stage of writing a research paper: finding sources and preparing citations. They will be guided in finding a topic, learn how to gather and read information effectively as well as how to create citations in a paper. They will understand how to use quotations effectively. By the end of this class, they will have all the skills they need to create a quality research paper, either independently or in the Research Writing II class. All of their research will be completed and they will be ready to write! Assignments are weekly and require about 4 hours of time per week. This class can be taken multiple times–assignments are designed to accommodate repeat students with new challenges.
