Revise to Publish: Short Story Workshop

Bring two drafted short stories. Spend four weeks revising them to publication quality with coach feedback on both. No new writing; this is a revision workshop.

You wrote the stories. Now make them publishable. Revise to Publish is for students who have two drafted short stories and want to revise them to publication quality. This is not a “write a story” class; students must bring completed drafts. If you need to write a story first, take Creative Writing: Short Story from Start to Finish before this one.

Over four weeks, students evaluate both stories, develop a revision strategy for each with their coach, and work through deep revision including structural strengthening, line-level polish, and final proofreading. The coach reads both stories, provides detailed editorial feedback, and guides the student through the kind of purposeful revision that turns a good draft into a publishable piece.

Week-by-Week: Week 1: Revision Strategy & Self-Evaluation (Story #1) | Week 2: Revision Strategy & Self-Evaluation (Story #2) | Week 3: Deep Revision & Coach Conference (Story #1) | Week 4: Deep Revision & Final Polish (Story #2)
