This is where the research becomes a paper. Students take the sources and citations they’ve prepared and write a multi-genre research project, combining traditional research writing with additional creative genres that bring the research to life. This isn’t a dry term paper exercise. Students produce work they’re genuinely proud of.

Week-by-Week: Week 1: Expository Writing | Week 2: Writing Genres | Week 3: Revisions and Works Cited | Week 4: Revisions and Integration

Intended For Grades: 6-12

Time Expectation:

Classes have weekly assignments. All assignments will be due midnight Friday EST each week. Assignments are intended to take approximately 2-3 hours per week.

Class Objectives:

Write a fully developed 10-20 page research paper
Properly cite sources within the paper
Create additional genres to supplement research
Utilize the revision process to improve writing

Class Features:

Students will have a completed research project by the end of this class
Students will have weekly contact with a coach who evaluates mastery and skills. Coaches also available via email all week long.
An online classroom will teach students time management and appropriate cyber behavior in a controlled environment.
