Some of the most important writing your student will do has nothing to do with school. This workshop teaches the practical, real-world writing skills that students need and that most programs never cover: writing thank-you notes, creating invitations, composing personal letters, writing clear directions, and other everyday forms. Week-by-Week: Week 1: Invites and Thank You Notes | Week 2: Everyday Writing Tasks | Week 3: Hand-Written Communication | Week 4: More Hand-Written Communication

Intended For Grades: 6-12

Time Expectation:

Classes have weekly assignments. All assignments will be due midnight Friday EST each week. Assignments are intended to take approximately 2-3 hours per week.

Class Objectives:

Develop well-written thank you noted
Manage everyday writing tasks like letters, envelopes, and addresses
Recording lists and recipes
Create strong letters for businesses or government agencies

Class Features:

Students will have the opportunity to send a letter to someone important to them as part of this class.
Students will have weekly contact with a coach who evaluates mastery and skills. Coaches also available via email all week long.
An online classroom will teach students time management and appropriate cyber behavior in a controlled environment.
