Introduction to Research Writing Workshop

Your first step into research writing. Thesis development, outlining, paragraphing, paraphrasing, and finding your voice in academic writing are all covered. Grades 6–12. Instructor feedback on every assignment.

This workshop prepares students for the structure and organization of a research paper without the pressure of writing a full paper yet. Topics include thesis statement development, outlining, creating well-developed paragraphs, understanding how to paraphrase, and developing voice in expository writing. The ideal foundation before tackling a full research project. Students who have taken our annual classes do not need this workshop.
