Punctuation is where most student writing goes wrong and where small improvements make the biggest difference. This workshop covers commas, semicolons, apostrophes, dialogue punctuation, and more. Students learn not just the rules, but when and why each mark matters. Instructor feedback on every assignment. Weekly deadlines. 2–3 hours per week. All materials provided.

Intended For Grades: 6-12

Time Expectation:

Classes have weekly assignments. All assignments will be due midnight Friday EST each week. Assignments are intended to take approximately 2-3 hours per week.

Class Objectives:

Utilize various types of punctuation (including end-of-sentence punctuation, colons, semicolons, dashes, and apostrophes) with accuracy
Recognize and use rules for comma placement
Create, format, and punctuate dialogue in a narrative style
Evaluate proper use of punctuation in various situations

Class Features:

Students will have weekly contact with a coach who evaluates mastery and skills. Coaches also available via email all week long.
An online classroom will teach students time management and appropriate cyber behavior in a controlled environment.
