This workshop covers the foundational grammar that every writer needs to understand: parts of speech, clauses and phrases, how to build a correct sentence, and how to structure a paragraph. This is practical grammar, not abstract drills. Students learn the rules and immediately see how they work in real writing. Instructor feedback on every assignment. Weekly deadlines. 2–3 hours per week. All materials provided.

Intended For Grades: 6-12

Time Expectation:

Classes have weekly assignments. All assignments will be due midnight Friday EST each week. Assignments are intended to take approximately 2-3 hours per week.

Class Objectives:

Identify and categorize parts of speech
Analyze the structure of various phrases and clauses
Describe the characteristics of four different sentence structures
Apply the standard structure of a complete paragraph to one’s own writing

Class Features:

Students will have weekly contact with a coach who evaluates mastery and skills. Coaches also available via email all week long.
An online classroom will teach students time management and appropriate cyber behavior in a controlled environment.
