Academic Writing Semester (High School)

Build confidence across three essential writing styles. Essay writing, comparison, and persuasive argument are taught progressively across three months with instructor feedback on every activity. ½ credit.

This semester takes students through three types of writing every high school student needs: essay writing, comparison writing, and persuasive argument. Each unit builds on the last: students develop their thesis writing and organizational skills in the first month, apply those skills to comparing texts in the second, and then learn to build and defend an argument in the third.
