This semester class explores grammar deeply across three units lasting one month each. Topics include foundational elements of grammar such as parts of speech and building paragraphs from phrases and correct sentence structure. A thorough integration of punctuation leads into advanced grammatical rules that give even some of the more experienced writers pause. Modules can begin at any time starting in September 2024 and may be taken in succession or spaced out over the semester or school year.

Unit 1: The Building Blocks of Grammar

  • Week 4: Paragraph Structure

Unit 2: Punctuation and Conventions

  • Week 1: Punctuating Sentences

Unit 3: Advanced Grammar

  • Week 1: Advanced Punctuation and Syntax
  • Week 2: Advanced Sentence Construction

  • Week 4: Style and Tone Techniques
