Meet with an Editor and Publish

Bring your completed manuscript. Work with a professional editor to polish it. Publish it on Amazon. This is the class where a manuscript becomes a book.

This is the class where a manuscript becomes a book. Meet with an Editor and Publish is for students who have a completed (or nearly completed) manuscript and are ready to take it through professional editing and into publication. Whether it’s a novel, short story collection, poetry collection, or memoir, we are here to help you take the next step to seeing your name in print.

Students work directly with a professional editor on our team with over 25 years of experience in book publishing, including a decade as head editor at a publishing house. Your student isn’t getting feedback from a tutor. They’re getting the same caliber of editorial attention that professional authors receive. This class focuses on individualized, one-on-one work with your coach; others may be in the class, but peer collaboration is not required.

The first two units focus on editing: structural review, line editing, revision strategy, and polishing the manuscript to publication quality. The third unit covers the publication process: writing an author bio, designing a cover concept, drafting a back blurb, creating a dedication page, and navigating Amazon KDP step by step. Students finish with a published book – formatted, uploaded, and available for purchase.

Prerequisite: Students must have a completed or nearly completed manuscript. This class is designed to pair with any Write to Publish writing course. Students who have written a manuscript independently are also welcome.
