Advanced Grammar Skills Workshop

Grammar for students ready to go beyond the basics. Advanced commas, modifiers, parallelism, sentence variety, and professional-level punctuation. Grades 9–12. Instructor feedback on every assignment.

This workshop is for students who have the basics down and are ready to sharpen their writing at a higher level. Topics include advanced comma constructions, parenthetical elements, coordinating adjectives, modifiers, parallelism, sentence consistency, sentence variety, and advanced punctuation. The grammar skills that separate competent writing from polished writing. Instructor feedback on every assignment. Weekly deadlines. 2–3 hours per week. All materials provided.

Week-by-Week: Week 1: Advanced Punctuation and Syntax | Week 2: Sentence Construction | Week 3: Consistency and Voice | Week 4: Style and Tone

Intended For Grades: 9-12

Time Expectation:

Classes have weekly assignments. All assignments will be due midnight Friday EST each week. Assignments are intended to take approximately 2-3 hours per week.

Class Objectives:

Identify syntax and varieties of sentences.
Analyze the structure of modifiers, parallel phrases, and multiple clauses in sentences
Practice grammatical structures using different points of view.
Understand proper usage of active and passive voice.
Utilize transitions, word choice, and sentence variety to create tone and style.

Class Features:

Students will have weekly contact with a coach who evaluates mastery and skills. Coaches also available via email all week long.
An online classroom will teach students time management and appropriate cyber behavior in a controlled environment.
