Introduces students to the basics of grammar. Weekly topics include: parts of speech, clauses & phrases, building a sentence, and paragraph structure. Starts the first Monday of every month. Space is limited. For grades 6-12.

Time Expectation:
  • Classes have weekly assignments. All assignments will be due midnight Friday EST each week. Assignments are intended to take approximately 2-3 hours per week.
Class Objectives:
  • Identify and categorize parts of speech
  • Analyze the structure of various phrases and clauses
  • Describe the characteristics of four different sentence structures
  • Apply the standard structure of a complete paragraph to one’s own writing
Class Features:
  • Students will have weekly contact with a coach who evaluates mastery and skills.  Coaches also available via email all week long.
  • An online classroom will teach students time management and appropriate cyber behavior in a controlled environment.
All materials will be provided in the class.
