Business Writing

This workshop will teach students about various aspects of business writing, including formal business emails and letters, as well as professional writing etiquette.. For grades 9-12.

Professional business writing in job and entrepreneurial situations is the focus of this workshop. Topics covered include: types of business writing, composing emails for specific business situations, writing formal business letters, and professional social media etiquette. Students will learn how to create business proposals for entrepreneurial endeavors. Starts the first Monday of every month.

Time Expectation:
  • Classes have weekly assignments. All assignments will be due midnight Friday EST each week. Assignments are intended to take approximately 2-3 hours per week.
Class Objectives:
  • Learn proper email etiquette for various situations
  • Study and create appropriate requests
  • Write a formal business letter
  • Prepare a proposal
Class Features:
  • Students will have the opportunity to communicate professionally as part of the class
  • Students will have weekly contact with a coach who evaluates mastery and skills.  Coaches also available via email all week long.
  • An online classroom will teach students time management and appropriate cyber behavior in a controlled environment.
