This semester elective will help students prepare several entries for the Scholastic Art & Writing contest. All pieces will be written and revised with both peer and coach feedback. This class has weekly deadlines. Class runs twice a year – Fall (September to November) and Summer (June to August). Note: This class is only available for returning students.

Time Expectation:

Classes have weekly assignments. All assignments will be due midnight Friday EST each week. Assignments are intended to take approximately 2-3 hours per week.

Class Objectives:

Revise two pieces that were previously written
Meet requirements of Scholastic for submission
Edit content in preparation for contest
Submit work into appropriate categories for the contest

Class Features:

Students will have several works ready to submit to Scholastic by the end of this class
Students will have weekly contact with a coach who evaluates mastery and skills. Coaches also available via email all week long.
An online classroom will teach students time management and appropriate cyber behavior in a controlled environment.

All materials will be provided in the class.
