Prepares students for the structure and organization of a research paper. Topics in this course include thesis statement development, outlining, creating well-developed paragraphs, and understanding how to paraphrase. It also introduces the ideas of voice and utilizing description to create an engaging paper. Assignments are weekly and require about 2-3 hours of time per week. This is a prerequisite for Research Writing I. Students who have taken our annual classes do not need to complete this workshop.
